Thank you for the quick response LP.

I did download the latest patch the night before this problem occurred. However, I managed to play an MP game that first night with the latest patch without any problem.

I guess I will stick around on here for your reply.

Thanks
Hmmm.. Something had to of changed your game files. In the past with other users, it's a virus scanner. What kind of virus scanner do you use?

My currrent anti-virus protection is something called symantec endpoint protection (which is something I get through my school). There was an issue with this system just the other day, where part of the system was down and a trojan virus had infiltrated it, but it has since been resolved.

X, check your Karma. I understand that with the new patch, it won't let you run MP if your karma is negative.

Harmon, Rich, Willard:

If you guys have a solution, e-mail me with it. I would like to play tonight as I have not been able to play for almost two full days (which is basically an eternity).

I thought we had the game files fixed so virus scanners wouldn't mistake them for virus's, but your problem sounds very familiar. I know it's a pain, but you'll need to do a full re-install of the game. So deactivate, uninstall, re-install the full game. Don't worry, your Work folder will not be removed.

Once it's re-installed, you'll want to go into your virus scanner and make an exception so it doesn't touch the SOWGB game directory.

LP:

This is my main concern. Is there a way to deactivate the game without being able to start it up? For example, I could very easily delete it from my desktop and then re-install but I'm not sure that this would deactivate it.

My mistake, you don't actually uninstall. Just install the game over your original install and that should correct the problem.

So there is no activating/deactivating involved.. I had a brain fart.. lol
