what is blank . dat files? doo you have that file.? the CVille.Dat file has no coding in it? is that the way its supposed to be ?

The CVille.dat - is what I'm referring to as a blank-dat-file.

Yes, it is empty and has no coding as you put it, basically a blank file that will load the game without pausing.

The only way to get the original dat file is to purchase the add-on-maps.

Try This : ( I have removed both of the (dat) files - as an example ) TURN SOUND UP

Start Game - Choose (SandBox) - Select the (Manassas Map)

You will see - Loading SandBox
PING SOUND - this will indicate that the game has paused due to missing (dat) file
Press SPACEBAR
PING SOUND - this will indicate that the game has paused due to missing (dat) file
Press SPACEBAR

The game should continue to load

Press the Spacebar - and the map should appear!

Try that and report back what happens.

well i did everything you told me but it still doesn't work . thanks though . it was a good try. i probably have to buy chancelorville or something . and i will when the economy is better.

We can sort this out. You absolutely do not have to buy the Chancellorsville and Antietam add-ons for this map to work. From what you are saying, Gunny, it still sounds like you have the Manassas mod installed incorrectly.

Can you please go into Windows Explorer and navigate to your Scourge of War directory, open up the Mods folder and the Manassas folder and either take a screenshot of what you have there or describe exactly what is in there?

Here is the sequence you should have (do not worry if the folder names in your game are different to mine - the actual title of the folder in the mods folder is unimportant). Also I use Win7 just like you; don't be put off by my WinXP desktop theme, I simply prefer it!

rckgunny - adding to what Saddletank mentioned above, when you start the game look in the top left-hand-corner of the screen.

What is the Version number that appears?

It should read something like SOWGB1.60000 or SOWGB1.61000

The additional Maps requires the latest patches, I just can't remember which patch opened up the maps.

i don't use windows explorer i only use firefox and google chrome.mines says sowGB 1.4000

Windows Explorer is the program that lets you look through the files and folders on your PC. You can access it via My Computer. Everybody who has a windows operating system has it.

Not Internet Explorer which is a (crap) web browser.

If you are still using SoWGB 1.4 your installation is years out of date. This is the reason your Manassas mod does not work. You need to patch your game to version 1.61.

yeah i've been working with next gen. online gaming working toward virtual reality. atm i'm working with war thunder. w/ occulus rift. tanks and flying virtual airplanes and jets . towards civilian being able to fly drone planes . via computers . and then tanks or soon unmanned tanks our government is working towards .norb would understand more about this than me . they make it, i test it. the files are to complicated for me . i don't even know how to make the skins. but i am a good operator of the vehicles.

i really wish i could buy chancelorrsville it is my favorite battle. jackson greatest victory against overwhelming odds, the famous flank manuver. its a text book plan still taught at west point .you're just not a general or shouldn't be a general if you don't know the ''move''
