Crikey - I sent you the two files for the fallen leaves in-case you want to experiment with them! Are those fallen leaves under the trees? Great work as usual. B)
Jubal Early - I'll keep poking around with this and see what I can come up with.

Re: SR1 Fictional RoundTops
OK, the biggest problem that I’m running into is away from the camera, the terrain that is sort of tiled looking.Could you please explain what is wrong in those pictures. I think they look fantastic. The ground in pictures 4 & 5 is a tremendous improvement.
It’s sort of hard to get the right camera angle to show you a picture of it, so I hope that this picture comes out correctly. Look at the ground between the houses and the men.
Basically, if the image is too sharp, too focused, too clear, it seems to show that the tiles are lined up instead of blending together.
Now, there is an answer to this problem, I just haven’t figured it out.
Another solution would be to place down clumps of grass that sort of hide the tile look that is away from the camera position, but I’ll rather find a better solution so that the ground blends together better.
Thanks, for the comments MTG , and thanks, born2see !

I had to look very hard to see that tiling. I can only say that this is such an improvement that the minor imperfection you pointed out is insignificant. It's like viewing a painting, one can always find a small flaw, but it's the overall quality that is important. Still, I suppose you won't rest until you are completely satisfied. But it already is exceedingly good.

Looks amazing!
I do agree, the tiling is visible in that picture.
In addition, would there be a lot of leaves on the ground in mid September?
Finally, in the grass, you should provide sprites of grass as well, for unless the cows were eating a lot of the grass, much of it would be quite tall.

Re: SR1 Fictional RoundTops
A very Happy new year to you Davinci and all the other modders who do such a great job on here.
Anyway to get back on topic any improvement at all with the ground textures will be great because they look so bland and blurry at the moment like this

Maybe just my opinion but I think it is the weak point in the game graphicaly so please do keep trying Davinci as it will be a great mod if you can fix it to your satisfaction.

The Tile showing thing in the background may just have to be an acceptable distraction at this moment, but I’m sure that there is a better solution down the road.
I have found that the terrain can be sort of crisscrossed placed, and this does hide the tiling a little bit better, the problem here is that there are only three colors per file, and the crisscrossing uses most of them.
Also, as mentioned above I can place down small clumps of grass that will sort of hide the tiling a little, and this does not seem to affect the fps as the grass is not bunched-up together, but a lot of individual clumps.
I sent the Antietam morning map to Norb – with the different textured ground, so this would give you all a glimpse on how the map looks and plays.
If he releases the map, this would allow everyone to pinpoint what is acceptable, and what areas need the most attention, so as I know how to proceed forward.
Basically, with Norb’s game engine, Louie Raider’s authentic maps, different ground terrain , 2ndTexas excellent trees, and Crikey’s expertise, I think that these maps can look very damn good within the next few months!

OK, I think that I'm going to go with these for now; the tiles don't show that much as long as the camera angle is from a realistic angle.
But, if the camera angle is viewed as if you are in a helicopter, then the tiles will show up, but for now I can’t or don’t want to blur them any more than I have.
This is one of the South Mountain Maps – So changing all of them would not be a big problem, also they will have a different name, so as not to mess-up with the originals.
Four Pictures with a different angle showing that the tiles are barely visible.

That ground texture looks really good B) Davinci. Its supposed to be the 1860s so nobody should be up looking down from a helicopter anyway
