Well. Not really. Not when NSD reads these threads and is looking at what to include. I think a wish list needs to be mature and to only include things that really would add to the correct direction of the game, not take it in inappropriate directions.

I mean I have dragons and magical anime girls on my wish list but I don't think I'll suggest those here since it would rather remove us from the period and correct mood of the game.

As Davinci says we should suggest elements that retain the period focus and reinforce the games quality and accuracy and playability. It's historicity. Funky map graphics and ways to move the men around the map are not actually needed as we have those now and a map that zoomed out so you were inside Gen Lee's tent would be just... well... cheesy. Sorry to say it bluntly and apologies for offending people. Can we leave Creative Arts to introduce out-of-period Hollywood effects into the RTS genre?

Again, each to his own...

You don't see me telling you what your suggesting is anything other than what it is, a suggestion.

Again one more time, each to his own.

Now with that said are you asking me not to post what I would like to see in future releases? It doesn't matter if you think it's crazy or not, it is up to NSD to decide that, not you or davinci.

What I suggested is a valid addition to any genre for that matter, all that would be required is a face lift, and bring my suggest into effect with few graphic, and ui changes.

I'll tell you what since I'm not welcome here with my suggestions, I'll just take them elsewhere...

Absolutely no satellite imaging, no radars, no spaceships, or any other mindless invention that was not around at this particular time.
Davinci: you're forgetting your wish for a remote-controlled camera (in a drone?), which could whizz about the battlefield at a height of 7 or 8 yards above the ground! ;)

Ahh, this is somewhat true, but CommandHeight=8 is not eight feet above the ground, but the current height of the men on the battlefield.

But, I see your point, so smack me back into reality, and keep the game devoted to the current time-period.

But, include the CommandHeight back into the game.

Now, it that a contradiction or what!

I too vote for command height as an option that can be set by the user.

When not playing HITS, I also hate the way the camera plummets to earth and has to be re-hoisted.

1 vote too for contradictions, diversity of tastes and choices. B)

Yes this is exactly my point by having the camera locked at one height it avoids readjusting the camera every-time there is a change of position.

I think that I have worn out my middle-mouse-button by constantly turning it to keep the camera at the ground level.

I’ll also add that after posting about this I re-did the keyboard.csv file, or the defaultkey.csv – I think both of them to allow the Spacebar to lower the camera instead of the LShift.

Also, if memory serves me correctly CommandHeight=8 is the lowest possible setting that will not clip into the terrain while moving the camera. But that applies to the previous game; I’m not sure what the lowest settings are for this game.

the ultimate civil war game can be Sow,TCM2 and old SM Gettysburg so...

My wish list:

Dynamic visually possitioning of sprites in line formation when behind wall etc.... The game possitions regiments in a perfect artificial line that make unrealistic effects when correcting heading when in close combat. I´d like a less perfect regiment line possitions when into battle and chaos.

More accurate scale of terrain. the computer screen does everything smaller.

No to obsess in realism because a computer screen is flat and in occasions the realism in a videogame sim can make things harder than in real life and less realistic.

Sid Meier´s Gettysburg system of campaign. I miss it a lot in my windows 7.

Make the camera less sensitive when z key is pressed.

Tweak the menus to fit well in laptops resolutions. Make the menus and screens fit well whatever resolution. The resolution are higher and toolbasr and some screens are harder to read.

Keep Improving the game! :cheer:

Improve performance!

And to me this is enough

greetings.
