FOG! - yes, fog would be great! I remember foggy early mornings in Virginia and Georgia. Sweet! Will hook that up right away. God, what a great map this has turned out to be!
Jack - Here is a Fog Mod - The numbers might need to be adjusted a bit!
Basically - it can be activated, and deactivated – just place in the
Mod folder!
The attachment KS_Fog_Mod.rar is no longer available

Try the new Fall Trees download. It is actually not really affecting my FPS that much and only at certain times. Make sure you get the better jump map also. You can edit the trees some if you need to increase the FPS. It is very easy.

The fog is great!! How can we make it thicker? I know you posted it sometime ago, but I'm too lazy to try and look it up. Which number do I change and in hat direction?

Jack – Hey, how is everything going?
The fog settings are controlled by the following numbers below.
The higher the numbers, the lighter the fog settings, I have been trying to figure out a way of having the fog appear very light, but un-successful so far!
I stopped at these numbers below, and started modding something else, so I’ll continue here with these numbers after a while.
KS.ini – file that is in the Fog Mod – folder.
;Fog
FogEnable=1
FogR=100
FogG=105
FogB=115
FogNear=300
FogFar=16500
BTW – the FogNear – is how close to the selected unit, basically the fog around the camera position!

Great! Thanks - however, just played an OUTSTANDING game with the fog running. Don't need to change anything, really. Once in the game, the fog was fine the way it was. Damn Yankees looming out of the fog as if from nowhere. Bloody AI has it all over us now. Can't see a damn thing, suddenly they are there. Reaction time if freakin' zero now. Gotta love this game!
All out there - if you're not playing this revised map, you are REALLY missing out. The D here has done a fine job of modding a relatively plain map into a real hoot!

Jack – Now, that sounded like an interesting game!
The road system really does need to adjusted a bit, due to the straight paths, the AI tends to bunch up too much, probably due to them all arriving at the same time.
I will not alter this map, but will probably do something with the next KS map release.
I think that I have found a way of reducing the corn-field a bit, by replacing some of the corn with a crop graphic. Just don’t ask me what it is; I have no idea about farming.
I also need to find a way of reducing the golden wheat a bit, that is where I notice a slight decrease in FPS, but I’m staying at or above ( 13 ), which is acceptable.
You , had a great idea about changing this map, I never did notice it before this!

So, pulled the nearfog in to just 200 yards. Darkened it up just a bit. Sweet! Talk about combat confusion! Between the trees and the fog, the lads really can't see what they're shooting at. Played a small game as Brigade cmdr in HITS and couriers. Serious realism. Talk about having zero control over what's happening. I pretty much rode around "encouraging the troops" as it were. Oh, and drawing fire. "...the men must see us today..." and all that. LOL!
Yes, some different roads or trails would be nice. Also a stream maybe? Oh, and a minor thing - need to put the Neumann Farm name back on the map. It got left behind somewhere in all the changes, and, of course, I can't figure out how.

Hey, I’m glad that you are enjoying the map, after all – it was your idea!

I probably will not change this one, but I will try something different with the next one.
A stream will be sort of hard, considering that the ground terrain can’t be changed; it would almost have to be a muddy graphic object placed on a part of the current road, to simulate a creek bed!....But that’s just thinking out-loud!
