SR1 Fictional RoundTops

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

That ground texture looks really good B) Davinci. Its supposed to be the 1860s so nobody should be up looking down from a helicopter anyway

Here are two more pictures of one of the South Mountain maps using random patterns of dirt and grasses to hide the tile look.

I'm going to try to use a different combination of ground textures on each of the existing maps, this way the community can choose which ones they like or dislike.

very impressive davinci, you must be doing it right because i dont see any lines there and all looks very natural. How are you finding it to do a 1:1 map? Any challenges you are coming up against? On a 1:1 how big would the map area be? sorry for questions im just curious :)

gunship – I placed the SR1 LRT on the shelf for the moment and moved towards redoing the default maps with a different ground terrain.

I think that I still have all of the files for the SR1 on my Computer, but I think that the majority of my time has been experimenting with different ground terrain trying to hide the tile look.

As of now, I have reached the conclusion that some of the tile-look is really the result of the PowerRenderEngine and probably can’t be avoided; only slightly covered over.

Basically, I’m not telling you anything that you don’t know, considering that your knowledge is greater than mine in this, but if the ground terrain is blurred, the tile are hidden.

But, I’m not a fan of the blurred look, so the higher the detail, the more the tiles will show on the ground. I just have to find an acceptable middle-ground.
