Controls2 - Fonts - Courier

Pick one and that'll be the official mod.

Let's use both of them - this way the user will have the option of which font to use.

Both Mods are listed as follows.

1) Fold_Message_v2_Rage - this will use the RageItalic font. (736x736 on 1024x1024)

2) Fold_Message_v2_LPen - this will use the LamarPen font - (736x736 on 1024x1024) - from born2see.

born2see - have you noticed that the LamarPen doesn't show the letter I - but will draw a mark directly below it. I think that that is how they do with a demo font. Remove a letter.

I extracted the Lamar Pen folder to a subdirectory called "courier message lamar pen" in the mods folder. Verified the Logistics and Graphics folder were in there, started the game, highlighted (yellow block) the mod, moved it to the top of the mods list, and started the game. I still get the old style message but with the new font. Tried it with both fonts. Same results.

Adding to what born2see mentioned above.

The Mods are designed so that they are already placed in a folder - and the folder goes into the Mods subdirectory.

Do Not - place them into another sub folder.

Check the picture below - does the directory look like this?

There is a problem with the RageItalic40.pft file that is in the Fonts folder.

The file doesn’t seem to accept a name change, from Rage Italic to what I had named it RageItalic40.pft. The game will still use the font – but it does list it as an error in the log file.

The font named LamarPen48.pft – works, so I only have to redo the mods that used the RageItalic40.pft file.

Thanks, that did it. I was trying to do too much to the directory structure.

Try this Lamar Pen file. You can install it as a font in your word processor to verify it has all the letters, etc. I checked it in MS Word. The "i" is there.

Even though I personally prefer the Lamar Pen, I may end up using the RageItalic because it looks like some of the Lamar Pen letters don't seem to fit into the "available space blocks". Maybe that's why some of the letters look cut off.

I'm using the CouriersandMaps mod. Is this the latest and greatest for the courier functions?

Try this Lamar Pen file. You can install it as a font in your word processor to verify it has all the letters, etc. I checked it in MS Word. The "i" is there.

I think that it is set this way in the demo version of the font.

It does give the impression of ink smudge marks.
