Try this Lamar Pen file. You can install it as a font in your word processor to verify it has all the letters, etc. I checked it in MS Word. The "i" is there.
I think that it is set this way in the demo version of the font.

It does give the impression of ink smudge marks.

Looks to me like for some reason it's dropping the "i" below the text line. Let me know if you get a chance to try the Lamar Pen file I attached in my previous email. I think it's a full version. Perhaps the Lamar Pen file Borntosee attached that you two used for testing was a demo version.

I thought that that was the one that you posted above, but I might still be loading the one from earlier.

born2see – may have to see if he can get the font to work, considering that he was the one that showed me how to do it.

born2see – can you try to load the Font posted above?

Does the same for me in SOWGB. Looks OK in Word.

Well, after going back-and-forth with these, I think that I’m going to stick with this one, using the RageItalic font.

By slightly increasing the width and length of the graphic, keeping with the original idea of RebBugler this will reduce the amount of scrolling

Well, I can say that after this weekend I know a lot more about these files than I did a week ago.

I agree with you. I like the look of LamarPen but the RageItalic works better in the game. I think we all know a lot more than we did a week ago! :P

Looks like we'll have to wait until NSD makes SOWG courier messages ttf compatible. The RageItalic font looks good, though.

This one is not as smooth writing as the RageItalic – it appears as a better in the field writing form.

born2see – this is the Mistral – viewed from the PR6 FontMaker. (Font - Added below)

I like this one better due to the fact that the writing is slanted left and right as if the writing was done in a hurry.

What do you think ?

It's tough. I looked at the site with the letters you found and they look more like the Mistral than the RageItalic. If you pressed me to pick, I'd choose the RageItalic. Here's why. If you could get the 'pen thickness', for lack of a better term, thinner then LamarPen is the most authentic. But if we have to go with the felt pen look then I pick RageItalic. It's all really subjective. If you could get it to look like this, that would be sweet.

You probably already know this but I’m a little bit slower than most.

I have been saving the font files in the PR6 changing the csv files to accept the new font, and then starting the game to see the results.

All that I had to do was to copy a small readme file onto the desktop, open it with notepad choose the font from the Menu – and view the why that the font would look since it changes all the text in the readme to that font.

The only two fonts that I can find with yo9ur type of writing \ thin – would be the French Script and the Palace Script.

I spent several hours today on the Internet searching for additional fonts to no avail. The company that started these types of pft fonts went out of business in 1995, if I remember that correctly.

Basically, we are going to have to come up with a way of converting the newer fonts to this type of format, if we ever hope to have a lot of choices.

But, I’ll try to search around on the Internet again tomorrow for some additional pft fonts.

I’m still sort of confused as to how you converted a TTF to PFT, I downloaded some of the TTF’s today, but didn’t have any success converting them.

BTW - I had no idea that they were using a sort of paper back then what we call notebook paper today.
