Is there an advantage to getting the latest video drivers for our cards?
If so,
What's the best way to make sure we have the latest?
How much chance we'll screw up our computers if we get them?
How easy to restore the old driver if the new one screws up the computer?

I do not believe that there is an advantage as far as this game is concerned. We do not use any new technology in the game. As long as your card supports DX9C, which all do today, you should have no issues. I only update my drivers when I have a problem. Then I go to the card makers site, not the gpu, and get drivers from there.
