Hello guys

nice to see this great game reminding me some crazy days of gaming with SMG (tons of hours spent with a mate on the 3 days battle in multiplayer mode)
SMG was released in 1995 i think so we had waited for 15 years !

My Questions.

1) Is there any 3 days battle scenario ?
2) If not, what the maximum scale of a battle in the huge scenarios? (How many brigades involved ?)

Thx

Duncan

1) No. The battle is covered over 4 different maps.
2) You can have the full Army OOBs for each side, but it's a HUGE memory hog and will not run on even the fastest machines. However, you can have multiple Corps at one time and have some gigantic battles. :)

And the AI still good at this scale or is it only for MP mode ?

SP only, MP scenarios aren't that big.

So no play the entire battle in on sitting option? Curses, it was always the best part on Sid Meier's Gettysburg. But then again I'm a brigade commander style person anyways I like commanding one or more brigades.

I am sure someone will mod it as soon as the sdk is released. Because there are a lot of people that want it. It's just that only the top computers can handle it and we need our content to be playable by all.

GB Three Days WILL HAPPEN

Just a matter of time, adding a few more features, mainly 'Carryover Positions' and 'Carryover Captured Batteries', and, getting around the 'Multiple Map' hurtles.

When the SDK/Mod features are made available, designing towards this goal may begin. I'm already planning several multiple carryover scenarios to culminate through the 3rd Day...much different than the present stock scenarios, among other things, different objectives must be secured, and in different ways. Still, it will be a strictly historic 'what if' series...and, or course, CSA all the way.

Any of you old SMG players who played on the M-Player service, remember any of the old SMG clans? Team Puy, DFA, 2M, etc ? I was the leader of Team Puy . . Elmarko. :)
