Sound improvements in the patch

Post by pcelt »

I know that some people have reported sound improvement with the DirectX update--but not all. And I was informed that my own DX was of same or later date than the update and so wasnt necessary. But I do have some important sound problems--mainly far too much volume on arty limbers on the move, and on marching troops----far too litte volume on musket fire and on marching music. Also I really miss the yelled commands that accompanied the action---"Column" "Hold Fire" etc-
I would just like to request that despite the DX effects there still are sound issues which a patch should address.
Cheers

So you did not install the DX update? How will you know that it doesn't fix some of the issues?

I have the latest DX and most of the times I only hear the horses galloping and flags moved by the wind. Nothing else... absolutely nothing else.

The voice orders you miss are probably (not sure) only part of the Tc2M community mod? I miss the drums and flutes of that ... I hope someone is up for the challenge of "porting" what can be ported from that engine to this one... if it is at all possible. :)

Nevertheless, I am framed at the second tutorial... since I *almost* managed to beat the rebs once I started to think the scenario is not unbalanced... it's the AI that has literally improved 100 times over the Tc2M one.

Of course... there's also another possibility, me being dumber than before (which is a realistic possibility after all).

A Dukes ---I could not install the update because once it established my DX was as recent as the update it gave me no choice of options except "FINISH" --

I agree with Karma, I also have the latest update for DX, so this cannot be the issue here.

But I am like many others very happy to wait untill the patch comes out, I can still play the Sim, just have to turn my pc volume further :)
