Greene Stands Alone

Very fun defensive battle. Began by moving th eleftmost regiment straight to the breastworks at the top of the hill, and one additional regiment straight to the middle of the line near the victory location. I then moved three reigments (including the skirmishers) to the southern end of the breastworks to prevent the enemy from flanking the entire position, and hollared to Geary for reinforcements at my center. From there, it was a simple turkey shoot for the remainder of the scenario. While my units held the line, Schimmelfennig moved in to secure the gap between the victory location and my southern units, and another union brigade began a sweep in front of the breastworks, running from my left to the right. The Southern boys fought valiantly, but were consistently being hit from two sides. In the end, four southern regiments surrendered, my casualty ratio for Greene's brigade ran about 5 to 1 in my favor, and we won, scoring 7,447 points. Very fun -- and points out how hard assaulting prepared breastworks really was.

Yeah, it's one of my favorites too. Those breastworks are definitely effective aren't they!

Great AAR, thanks. :)
