What's the correct pronunciation of General Heth's last name?

This has been bugging me for quite some time. I originally thought it was "Heth", as in "death". But in the movie "Gettysburg", they pronounce it as "Heath", as in "teeth".
Which is it?

Yep, as Garnier said, rhymes with teeth.
It's taken awhile for me to get my head around several name pronunciations of the period. General Darius Couch was pronounced Darius "Coach" and Colonel Julius Raith (of Shiloh fame) was pronounced Julius "Wright," to name but a couple. They were "hooked" on a different set of phonics, that's for sure.
