McNabb Gone!

So I'm a big Philadelphia Eagles fan and I'm very happy to lose McNabb. I am very tired of him and his choking in the playoffs. I am excited about the new guy Kolb. Saw him play a couple of games last year and he looked very good. He can actually throw a ball in front of a receiver rather than at their feet. Something we haven't had in Philly in a long time.

I'm with you Norb. I've felt that he should be dealt since 2004. It got to the point that I despised him and couldn't fully feel the emotions that I used to feel watching the Birds play. I wanted to see them win but knew in my heart that he was holding them back so I resented him. It's a shame the defense is in such bad shape now. Wasted years with Jimmy Johnson's superb defensive schemes, the real reason behind all the great seasons during the McNabb era. Let's hope for a good draft and a not so bad re-tooling year.

I expect a .500 season, due to inexperience on the defensive side of the ball, but I think folks around the league will be suprised that McNabb won't be missed all that much. Kolb will be solid in a blue collar kind of way, something I've missed watching for a long time (Jaws?).

The Skins might be a disapointment and all those ego's (McNabb,Johnson,Portis) could clash if things don't go well. The expectations being set for them are going to be high based on perceptions that might not be correct. They seem to think McNabb is a good leader for some reason. Didn't they see what was happening in Philly? I guess McNabb has always fooled a lot of people into thinking his easy going outward demeanor was what he was really like on the inside. I think it was his defense mechanism to deal with his lack of confidence and ability to handle stress on and off the field. He has ability and physical gifts, but that head of his spent alot of time inside his poop chute !

I have a hard time judging the defense. I'm leaving myself open on that. How can a defense be any good when they are constantly on the field? When you get a big interception and you have just enough to get a drink because your offense is constantly 3 and out. Hopefully with Bradley back it will mean something, but he's still to be tested. Last year was his first full year as a starter. I was at the Flight Night when he got hurt and I remember leaving wondering who their other LBs were.

The big thing about McNabb, that reminds me so much of why I hated Cunningham is there moping on the sideline. Great QBs motivate their team and never give up, they HAVE to be the leader. McMope just walks around feeling sorry for himself when a game goes bad. I cannot stand that!

The Washington Redskins: Where washed up football stars go to die....This trade has Little Napoleon Schnyder written all over it. Meet the new boss; same as the old boss.

Redskins haven't been the same since Gibbs stopped coaching, Riggnins retired and the Hogs all left.

For that matter, the Eagles haven't been the same since Norm Van Brocklin left.
