Anyone else noticing how one sided the battles are?

Hi.

Every battle so far has been lost agains't the confederate army, or am I that bad of a player (probably the latter)?

I just played Little Powell's sample mod again, and I keep getting the same results.

I actually thought I had this beat this time, and then the confederate army sent the longest line of troops that swung like an arm of a gate, totally destroyed everything in it's path, they were unstoppable.

I play on the normal setting. I just can't seem to beat these sandbox battles (I know try the kindergarten level).

Perhaps more AI tweaking is in order?

Later!

Dunno about sandbox, but I can win with either side in most of the planned scenarios. I'll try a couple of union sandbox battles in Kansas to see how I do.

Well, I just played one (and am going to bed -- it's almost 3am and I have work tomorrow) -- but I used the third day OOB, took the Vermont Brigade (Grant) from Sedwick's Sixth Corps. Ran it as open meeting engagement, no objectives, just kill each other. Kansas map. Faced AP Hill's boys, in the form of Wright and Mahone's brigades. Wiped the floor with them rather handily, scoring 1015 points before all Conferedates were routed.

Doesn't prove there isn't a bug, but I sure didn't have any problems with the Federal forces against those Rebels.

Hi.

I was playing the Demo Mod by little Powell (posted for download).

I don't know if that particular scenario is meant to be difficult or not (even on the normal difficulty level), but it gave me a run for what little money I had.

Anyway, I didn't know if baiting the enemy would be so easy to do for me to win.

I used a very very old rts trick from when I played Dune2, C&C, Red Alert. Would that be considered a flaw of the AI?

I really doubt that bait trick would work playing agains't you people though.

Or would it???? :)

I haven't played SB in all its varieties (I usually play div v div), but I have won with both sides. It may be just me, but it seems to me that the AI is better than in TC2M, thus perhaps harder to beat. Furthermore, I often have a blast getting my arse handed to me by a bunch of little sprites. I think the scenarios in SP are generally harder to win than the typical SP SB battle.

Well, I see most people win battles against the AI, but I'm an exeception apparently...

Don't bet on it.
