Any evidence that ventrilo causes technical problems in multiplayer?

If there is any I'd be glad to hear it. But please don't spread rumors that it is the cause of the technical problems, unless you have some specific evidence.

For instance if you tried a game that didn't work when people were in vent, but then worked when they left vent.

We were discussing this tonight. We ran with Skype rather than Vent. Skype uses more bandwidth than the game! But it sounds so clear.

We ran our entire beta program with vent and never had any issues that we could attribute to it.

The only way it could cause problems is if you had such low bandwidth that the little bit that it uses was causing problems. But it would be a hardware case by case basis, not anything specific between the game and vent.

Thank you for clearing this us Norb, without using a voice system a multiplayer campaine is impossible to run efficently...

I disagree, but then again there is another forum for that...

You can disagree here...

The only rule is that no flame wars aloud. But good debate is always welcome and if you have evidence to the contrary, please present it. It's not like any of us know for 100%, this is just a best guess based on experience.
