Scourge of War Boards

Just wanted to see if anyone new of "alternative" internet options.

My wife and I, last week, moved into our first house and as bad luck would have it, even though we live in a 5 year old subdivision, no high speed internet is available. Or from what I have been able to locate, no internet.

Does anyone know of any form of decent wireless internet or such? There is a satelite internet that I found available, but it is $60 for just 1mb down and the price jumps way to fast to get anything faster than that. I have heard that the latency is pretty bad for satelite too. I cringe at the thought of going back to dial-up. Luckily, I can still get on the boards at w**k.

Yeah you definitely don't want to use satellite. I had to use it for a year, VERY slow, unreliable, and expensive.

Your best bet would probably be a Verizon wireless broadband card. I haven't used them much, but my parents use one and it seems to work great for them. Not as fast as Cable, but still much faster than satellite and seems to be very reliable.

Verizon is the phone carrier in the area, I will have to check. They don't have any internet services, but maybe the wireless card could work.
