Mod Loading Oddity

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Mod Loading Oddity

Post by Wolfe_CH »

I noticed that sometimes my small graphic mod wouldn't load.

It always works fine when I play Sandbox, a User Scenario, or when loading an existing Save Game. But whenever I fire up a Tutorial or one of the in-game Scenarios the default graphics load instead.

Turns out I have to first start a new game, save that game, and then load the saved game from the Main screen.

Fire up a default scenario, no Activated Mods will be working. Try loading the Restart Level from within the scenario ... still no Mods. Save the game and load that from within the scenario ... still no Mods. Quit the scenario back out to the Main screen, choose Single Player, and load the Saved game (or the Restart Level save if you prefer) ... BINGO! The Mods are now working.

Bug?

Mods shouldn't work in the stock scenario's. The fact that they work when you load the saved games is indeed a bug.

Even stranger: If you Activate a Mod, start and then save a game, then quit back to the Main menu, Deactivate that Mod, then load the saved game, the Mod is still active!

I will try and re-create this tonight and submit a report. Thanks for your report!

I think that this is one of the bugs that we fixed for this release. It is also why the high scores didn't update.
