Mp - Logistic Files Mismatch ??

Hi.
I finally got a very old router for my two computers, and it works quite nicely.
Both SOWGB games are patched to 1.02.
I hope I can explain this properly.
On one computer I have a reg version, and of course on the other is the demo. When I host a game on one, and join with the other I get 'logistic files mismatch', and I get dumped.
Now if I deactivate the registered version, and make both systems DEMO only, it works fine. I do understand that it's seeing the reg version, and the demo as not being compatible, but why not?
Here is a image of what I do get when trying to connect, then get dumped.

Why should this even matter anyway. I also checked to make sure I didn't have any mods active.
Just want to know, because I can't purchase a second key, I only had enough money for one, and I'm trying to get the wife interested in playing this game since I can't play online (dialup).
Cheers...

Did you install the 3.1 beta patch on both computers?

There is nothing preventing you from playing online, just not recommended. You are free to try and see how it goes.
You must patch both installs. Even the demo. The versions must be the same for line play.

Hi ADukes...
You know, before I answer, I just can't believe how cool it is to have this kind of support. I just went to make a coffee, and already I have you guys helping me out.
Yep, I patched both versions with 3.1.

Hi Norb, excellent to hear from you oh king of code!
I did install the newest patch to both computers.
Okay, I'll see if I can find some others who have dial-up just to give a try, it would be interesting to see what happens.
Cheers, and thanks so much for the help guys!!!

The bug you describe means that the sow files do not match. We have never had a false positive on that error and it has saved us a lot of testing time. You cannot play registered vs. demo, but if you deactivate, you should be able to play. We have not tested this recently and if you continue to have errors, we'll take a look.

Hi Norb.
I've been trying to get it to work since 10am this morning, and it's 9:44pm now, and it doesn't work with one being registered, and the other being the demo. If both are demo versions, it works perfectly. Just wandering if players online are having this problem as well.
Oh well, can't have everything.
Cheers...

That is correct then. It is working as designed. Demo cannot play registered. There are too many differences and this is not something we wanted to support. You would have to unregister to play against a demo game.

Thanks Norb. SOW would be no different than other games I have for multiplayer.
Thanks again Norb...
Oh, I finished my first online game with Talon. Worked out very well. I only experienced a small amount of lag, while Talon didn't experience any lag what-so-ever.
Which makes your first assumption (earlier thread) correct.
cheers, and thanks.
