My first customer Saturday night was a pleasure and real honor to meet. His name is Bill Farr and he is 87.
Mr. Farr was the Fire Chief in the city of Sparks (which is connected to Reno) for 28 year's and in fact, the street he lives on, Farr Ln, was named for him.
But the real honor in meeting this gentleman was finding out that, at age 21, he not only took part in the Invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944 but his regiment was in the first wave that stormed Omaha Beach that morning.
He still can recall his regiment, brigade, division etc... without blinking an eye! :cheer:
And a real testament as to how tuff this fellow is......last year he was t-boned at an intersection......his back was broken in 5 places as well as his right hip.......1 year later, he's up and walking!
He does need the aid of a walker for the most part, but that he bounced back from such a truly horrible injury is astounding.

So A Salute to Mr. Bill Farr!
A member of The Greatest Generation indeed.
