Gettysburg was on the TV recently and having a limited understanding of the battle made me do some research on the interweb.
Doing so I come across GBSOW. Being someone who was incredibly dissapointed by Napoleon Total War (even with mods) I was sceptical.
So I checked out the screenshots and downloaded the demo. I was impressed by the graphics, the maps are incredible and the sprites give the game a feeling of playing with animated painted minitures.
Going through the tutorials of the demo showed me the potential and depth of the title. Suffice to say I purchased the full game and love it.
Im still getting to grips with the interface, my intention is to play in HITS mode using couriers as much as possible for max realism. Im sure I will have plenty of questions to ask in the future, but I just wanted to say hello, and thank the devs for restoring my faith in PC realtime wargames.
Cheers
