New replacement artillery gun sounds

Post by Michael Slaunwhite »

Hi.

This small edit will replace the existing artillery gun sounds. I had to convert these over from a game I frequently play. I didn't increase the volume, or the clarity of the sound in any way.

You can activate, and use these sounds while using the other small sound edit I posted earlier.

Installation: extract the files into your mods directory.

Download Link: New Arty Sounds.rar

P.S. Please let me know what you think. If there are any problems, let me know.

Enjoy!

Hi.

If you haven't noticed already, the sound file Ca_NSD12Nap.wav has a double sound, first it gives you the full sound of the cannon being fired then a slightly lower sound resembling an echo.

The question is, should I replace this sound with just a single sound instead of the two? I can edit this very easily, and have it up in seconds.

Please let me know.

No No, the echos are great also, some times your in a lower elevation and it sounds like your in a canyon which is a great sound effect.

Could you give us some info as to what we can expect with the different sounds? Does it change all the guns, or just a few? thanks.

Hi gunship24.

No, only a couple. I've noticed that having a mixture of the new updated sounds, and the stock sounds make it a more dynamic, and rich environment. For instance, I was trying to modify the canister sound, but you can't make the original sound better no matter how hard you try, whoever made that sound knows his stuff, you just can't top the stock canister sound, it's just too unique sounding.

As far as a list, no, I'm just plugging along picking out a sound I might want to edit, and see what it may sound like.

I do hope you like the edited sounds.

Cheers...
