Question About Uniform Quality Setting

A question about uniform quality. I noticed that my install set the uniform quality at High. I assume that the program evaluates the specs of my PC and video card and chose this setting as being the most suitable? Anyway, I changed it to Best and I couldn't believe how much better the uniforms looked including the red of the Zouvres, the black hats of the Iron Brigade and the mixed colours of the Rebs. I played McPherson's Ridge and the graphics looked smooth to me at this setting. I quess I will have to also try it at High to see if there is a noticeable difference.

The program has no idea what hardware you have on your system and does not peek. We have default middle of the road settings that most people can run. At higher settings you can run into memory problems depending on a lot of factors. You could also start affecting overall game speed as well depending on the size of the battle. We put in a number of options so people can choose the options that are important to them. There can also be significant effects depending on what other programs you do or do not have running at the same time on your system.

I'm running XP. My system is a 3.16 GHZ dual core with 4 GIG RAM. My video card is a Radeon HD 4890 PCIE with 1 GIG. As mentioned it seemed to run okay with the uniforms set at best for scenario #3.
