Spreading out the Divisions a bit

Hey All,

I think someone asked this a while back, but I'm too lazy to look so I'll ask again. Is there a way to mod the initial set-up for "Line Of Sight" Sandbox games? The troops are incredibly close together at the beginning. Example: Modded 2nd. Day OOB - Rebs - Longstreet with Mclaws, Hood, and Pickett. Gettysburg Big Map. Click on and everyone is packed on top of each other. Gotta be a way to spread the Divisions farther apart from each other. Thoughts?

Also, should have thrown this in. Not Armies too close together, just Divisions on the same side too close together.

The troop positions are done by the code and cannot be modded.

Can the code be changed (by an authorized person) to solve the problem?

LP,

With all due respect to your learnedness, I may be barking up the wrong tree. Somewhere, I read here the maps are divided into a certain number of squares and the AI puts a Divsion, (or Brigade or whatever), into each one. Perhaps that is not for "line of Sight" battles, I do not remember. As I recall, the question came up in regards to a "whole Army" game, where units from both sides were interlocking and engaged immediately, due to the sheer number of Divisions on the field. Someone, (perhaps your august self), explained about the grid pattern on the map, etc. Someone else explained about changing the distance between Generals, (Brigade Commanders, I believe), so as to at least have the Brigades within the Division start father apart, rather than have them start with interlocking Battlelines. Thoughts?

If it's something in the modded OOB that's causing the problem, then it's highly unlikely the code will be changed.

Jack O'Neal - Post the OOB you are using that's causing the issue. I'll check it out.

I just don't know enough about the grid system to provide any useful info. Hopefully Norb can answer that one. However the more I look into this, the OOB setup may effect the troop placements in SB in some way.. I'd like to get that OOB from you that causes spacing issues.

Actually, its all of them, regardless of whether they are modded or not. Also, the scale of the Big Gettysburg Map is deceiving. The units are still crammed together, but they cover a lot of terrain. Yes, perhaps His Norbness can lay hands upon the Divine Keyboard and produce some insightful commentary regarding this question.

Can you post a screen shot or post the OOB so I can see exactly what the problem is? I've never noticed this problem before for friendly units (only units enemy and friendly units overlapping with Corps or Army size)

I am having the same issues currently, battles start with armies intertwined sometimes completely mixed together as if they were part of the same army. This is a major bug, I am having difficulty playing the game at this point because of before said. No mods loaded latest beta patch installed.
