Map question re: Herr's Tavern

If I was at home I could check this, but I'm at work so I might as well throw out the question....

Is Herr Tavern itself on the map? I remember seeing the barn, but I can't remember seeing the tavern.

As I'm sure most of you know the tavern building that was there during the battle is still standing. It's at the southeast corner of the Chambersburg Pike and the current Herr's Ridge Road and fronts the C. Pike. Going from memory regarding the game map, I seem to remember a building maybe 100 yards further west of the Herr barn on the south side of the C. Pike, but that appears to match a stone structure shown on the Warren map at that location and seems too far west of the barn and too much down slope to be the tavern.

I'm hoping a future expansion map will include the land west to Marsh Creek and maybe a bit west of Marsh Creek so we can replay the early morning cavalry delaying action and maybe a "what-if" scenario for the 1st Corp arriving early enough to meet Heth's men close to Marsh Creek.

I'll have to check the map about the Tavern.. I recall seeing it at one point but I might have been mistaken.. I trust your judgement on the map accuracy more than my own. :)

As far as the early morning skirmish; that is depicted in one of my Entry Level Brigade Scenarios. The first shots of the battle were known to have been fired from the area of the Whisler House which is located on the Gettysburg map.

I have a feeling the brick building on the west slope of Herr Ridge is meant to be the tavern, I'm guessing it's just mis-located. The Warren map indicates a stone structure close to where the game map has the brick (tavern?) building currently. I wonder why the Warren map indicates the tavern as a stone structure? The only reason I brought it up is because the tavern is one of the landmarks of the battlefield and not just another nondescript building.

Ah, but you're talking about history. I'm talking about rewriting history. I think, knowing the day 1 situation, and even the situation on the evening of June 30th, plausible scenarios occurring between Herr Ridge and Marsh Creek are possible. What if Buford had moved his main force up to be in line where his videttes were along or near Knoxlyn Ridge? Plus, we endorse any reason to get another map from you guys.

It is just on the edge of the map. The road to the N. Grist farm is on the map but the road south to B. Herr is not. We set the edge so that we had the top of the ridge line for the CS Artillery to set up.

Thanks for the info Jim. Hopefully when the Marsh Creek expansion map is released ;) this area will get more attention.
