Question about Extra Scenarios

Newbie Qs - I downloaded the mentioned 'extra scenarios' and hoped to use them to improve my new player skills, but I can't figure out how to play them. The new player scenarios crash, but the other bonus scenarios seem to work ok.

Tried 1st one (GBBP01-July3-Lost Avenue (C-Reg) and it crashed the game. Hard. (I've got a Windows 7 64 bit laptop with 8GB of RAM, no lack of computing power.)

Tried 1st scenario of bonus pack (GBB01-July1-Wadsworth 1-1-I (U-Div)) and it seems to run ok.

Are the new player scenarios sensitive to any other game changes needed? or sensitive to Windows 7 64 bit? Other extra scenarios and the standard game scenarios seem to run fine.

I verified that there are 15 directories with files now located in C:\NorbSoftDev\Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Mods\Bonus Scenarios\Scenarios ...

as well as 3 directories with files located in C:\NorbSoftDev\Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Mods\Brigade Scenario Pack\Scenarios

Have I missed something regarding download/installation/setup to have these scenarios available and playable?

What sort of simple, stupid concept or step(s) am I missing?

Request advise, over. (Bob, Bristol RI)

i just had the same problem a minute ago!

I didnt have a c:norbsoft folder, so you have to move them to wherever your mod folder is.

Then you have to 'activate' those mods. They then show up in the user scenarios part.

I can get them to show up and select them, just the 3 new player scenarios crash the game.

Not a huge problem for now, as I just had the most amazing experience loading (and basically watching) the NSB Pickett's Charge scenario. Really neat (particularly after having my 3rd visit to the battlefield this past July 4th weekend ). Nice job NSB. Learning the game this way is wonderful fun.

I'll get the new player scenario issue sorted out: The directory locations are as I stated previously (pretty sure that I simply installed them in the default/preferred directory locations that came up.)

Back to your help post: do I need to move the brigade scenario pack into a different directory structure than this one? ( C:\NorbSoftDev\Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Mods\Brigade Scenario Pack\Scenarios )

Let me know. As much as I'm enjoying learning a little here and there, I would like to be able to play the newbie scenarios to move myself along. Thanks.

It could be a conflicting mod since some of the brigade pack scenarios use their own OOBs. Post the contents of your SOWGB.log file and hopefully I can see which one is causing the issue.

Thx for the replies - I can't fool with it at the moment - but later today or this evening, I will try to launch one of the offending scenarios and will attempt to grab and post the log file, as requested.

Thanks again for the help and assistance.

opuslife,
I see it has been some time since your last post but I just thought I would post my info to see if it will help you or anyone else having a similar problem. None of the Brigade Scenarios crash on my system and here is what Mods I have installed:

Bonus Scenarios
NSD Sample 1
Brigade Scenario Pack
Pipe Creek SR10

I don't have many Mods installed but I hope this might help someone...

Thx - Haven't revisited the issue - have been enjoying the 3 day immensely - so haven't really been concerned. I will later at some point. Thx for posting info. Regards, Bob, Bristol RI
