Scourge of War Boards

I wanted to share the fact that the man in my ID picture is Heywood Landrum, my great,great Grandaddy who served in the CSA. He joined with family in Texas if I remember the story right,though he lived in Florida.

You should post a larger pic. Any idea what unit he was in?

My photo is of David Acheson my great,great,great grandfather who fought with the 140th pennsylvania infantry in the battles of chancellorsville, and gettysburg where he died on july 2nd while attacking stony hill with the rest of caldwells division.

Very neat. You get to play his regiment in the game in GB13, he was part of Zook's brigade.

My relative was a Union Cavalrymen out west that later become a spy.

My wife on the other hand has a relative that was in the 48th Georgia, Wright's brigade, Andersons Division. He took part in Andersons echelon attack on the 2nd. He fought until the end of the war and surrendered at Appomattox.

I'll have to look his record up again and will post it as soon as I get it. My other GG Grandaddy was in the 50th Georgia.

My Grandaddy Landrum was in the Texas 10th regiment Co F. Captured in Arkansas,released after 5 months and fought through the rest of the war despite being wounded, wounds which would disable him later in life. He is listed as Joseph H. Landrum.

I've a relative who came across the boat and then joined the Irish brigade. We have his sword. I thought for the longest time that A) It was of course Meagher's Irish Brigade and that B) He was an officer.

Turns out he only came over in 1862 and served in Corcoran's Irish Brigade and he was only an NCO and we have (well my aunt has) his NCO sword.
