Gettysburg 3Days Carryover

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Gettysburg 3Days Carryover

Post by RebBugler »

GB3D1-July1-Gettysburg Day One (C-Army) SR10
GB3D2-July2-Gettysburg Day Two (C-Army) SR10
GB3D2B-July2-Gb Day2 - Wolf Hill Line (C-Army) SR10
GB3D3-July3-Gettysburg Day Three (C-Army) SR10
GB3D3B-July3-Gb Day3 - Wolf Hill Line (C-Army) SR10

GB3D1 starts it all, win this one and that opens GB3D2 and GB3D2B, these in turn open GB3D3 and GB3D3B respectively.

The Gettysburg Day carryover series is scripted in line with the previously released scenario 'Gettysburg 3Days in 7Hours'. The advantages of this carryover setup is that fatigue and ammo is renewed with each day, plus a 5% return of losses.

The 'Gb Wolf Hill Line' carryover series is a 'What If'. What if after the first day of engagement, the Union forces pull back and form a new defensive line, ranging from Wolf Hill to the Round Tops. This is based on the premise that the Rebels will capture Culp's and Cemetery Hills the first day. This scenario establishes objectives along the Wolf Hill Line, and they demand Rebel offensive actions to secure at least a victory, to move on. Also, setup is somewhat different with this series to accommodate swifter offensive actions by the player...you'll see. In addition, the third day is extended a half hour, this time taken from the second day because reinforcements are up earlier...day/play starts later. Still, this 'What If' strives to stay within historical boundaries.

Also released today is the latest B&F update, version 08. The DRF versions of these scenarios are included within that package.

This scenario series uses a brand new feature - Carryover Positions. Now, when assigned in the scenario config file, 'carryover=3' will enable ending positions of a finished scenario to become the beginning positions of the next, carryover to, scenario.
The previous link is no longer viable. This mod has been updated and integrated with Bugles & Flags, the scenarios are included there.

Apologies, had to fix some weather lines that nullified fallback orders by restricting visibility at the end of scenarios GB3D1 and GB3D2, otherwise the beginning of the next scenarios will have troops engaged.

Link is updated.

Dang it, put those weather lines in after testing, thought they would add to the ambiance of the ending day...then saw my error after publishing.

Great work Reb.

Note to all: These take advantage of the new sunrise/sunset feature. A must see if you haven't yet.

Why is it that a subject can become so skewed that it makes me feel like I am living in the twilight zone? Case in point...
