Dead officers

Why is it no officers die, like they did in the actual war. By officers, I mean the little sprites with swords and pistols, not the generals on horses. I mean, a regiment can charge, or get shot down, and everyone around the officer is down but not the officer. Why is that?

If I am clear about what you are talking about, it's the one sprite that is the flag bearer sprite. Sometimes they have been replaced with officers instead of flag bearers. We never kill that sprite, as it will always represent the reg until they fully run off the map. Just a design decision really.

Oh, ok, thank you. I just thought that maybe that sprite would die, and then you can see someone reaching down to grab hold of the flag...a little in game humor.
