Built in voice support in next release.

Post by Michael Slaunwhite »

Hello.

I was online earlier today in SOW game lobby, and I had a brief conversation with a person named "Soldierx" (he joined about 35 minutes after I logged in), and I found out that he doesn't use Teamspeak which pretty much has left him in the game lobby looking for someone to have a game with. I also asked how many people he usually see's in the lobby when he is on, and his answer was just himself, and another person at the best of times which normally would mean just himself.

I remember when the game was first released, the lobby had quite a few people in it, especially on Friday, and the weekend. Teamspeak even though is a cool idea has in my opinion crippled the playing SOWgb multiplayer because not everyone uses Teamspeak to play their online games. In some instances a few do not even know how to go about setting it up.
Anyway, here is my question to NSD: Will you be having built in Voice support in your next release?
That is what Teamspeak is doing, it's killing your MP community. I really hate seeing a game as great as this take a hit in the one of many areas which makes this game great.

later.

One more thing...

Your sales could also be suffering because of lack of MP lobby support. Imagine someone just downloads the Demo, and thinks to him or herself that finally a game about the American Civilwar that can be played online. He starts the demo up, logins into the game lobby...DEAD. Okay he waits for awhile, no one shows up he logs off. A few hours later he logs back in thinking there must be someone there to try out the game...no one is there, so he thinks the game has no multiplayer community, and walks away from purchasing it.

Anyway, I have been on, and off in the game lobby to show my support for the game even though I can't play since I am using dialup.

Later.

It's a good idea. Wish we had website support to show the lobby online too. So many great ideas and so little time :(
