regiment disorganization

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this so feel free to move it where it needs to be.
I'm a very active player in the MP community and i'm sure by now the topic of column charges has been done to death, but last night as i watched 20 regiments in column charge a 100yd section of my line i realized something. It's not the fact you can charge in columns , its the fact that there is no organizational effects after you perform such a maneuver . After the assault all the regiments gather back up neat and proper ready to charge again in seconds. totally unrealistic.
I would like to suggest some sort of state of disorganization for infantry who have just been in melee.

That makes some sense, but I think that it would require a bit of programming time, plus a new formation, such as (i.e.….disorganized), plus rewriting of a lot of the code to determine what this new formation can or cannot do!
Can this new formation shoot , can this new formation be ordered around , etc…..

you couldn't just slow down how fast the unit forms back up? i'm just looking for some form of vulnerability where there should be .i understand no fix is easy, but over thinking it makes it harder.

The units speed is determined by several files that I can think of, which are the
unitglobal, drills, and the
mapname.csv file.
Slowing down the units in
my opinion would require a separate
formation otherwise how would the game know who to slow-up!
None of the files listed above would seem to solve the problem that you are encountering!
unitglobal – will not work due to the fact that you cannot isolate which units…..
drills – will not work due to there is not a formation to slow-down…..
mapname .csv file will not work since this file will slow-down all of the units…..
Someone on the team would have to step in and confirm this, this is strictly my opinion, and the way that I see it, it would requite a drastic rewrite of the code!

Look, I don’t play any of the
Multi-Player games, so I have absolutely zero knowledge in the problems \ situations that you guys are encountering.
I would try to solve the problem of units charging across the country-side by placing a
heavy-penalty bonus on the terrain.
This would stop the units from going across fields or up hills very quickly.
Which would probably eliminate units charging artillery or such, considering the time that it would take to reach the target?
Now, would reducing the speed of the units crossing certain terrain cause any other problems with playing the game on-line, that would also have to be considered!

then i implore you(and dev.s) to come see , so when you try to help you know what your talking about.
i know you don't play MP and to my knowledge i don't think much of the dev. team does either. The latter is the target of my post. Thanks for teaching me the fact i know nothing about coding, couldn't have guessed that myself.
but I think that it would require a bit of programming time, plus a new formation
god forbid someone has a job to do.
I may know nothing, but i also see nothing happening to remedy and balance the MP community . Is this a job or a hobby? If it's a job there's no excuse. " i'll get to it when i get to it" or "we don't have the time/people" means this is nothing but a hobby and i can respect that . But they say they want the money. well all i am asking is for my moneys worth.

Look here
Einstein – I don’t have to come and play the game to answer a question!
And, I feel that I can answer a question without playing
on-line , but hey to each its own!
Thanks for teaching me the fact i know nothing about coding, couldn't have guessed that myself.
OK!
god forbid someone has a job to do.
You have stated the problem, so I’m sure that someone on the team will give you and answer, or take this into consideration!
I may know nothing, but i also see nothing happening to remedy and balance the MP community .
You have
stated a problem , so
you are doing something!
Why, ….. just why?

Every request made on this forum is considered. The only way you can insure something doesn't get into the game is if you don't ask.

Beef Stu,
I understand your frustration! And No this is not a hobby to these gentlemen, I am sure they will work this out in the near future. It because of the feedback, like you sent, that the problems are remedied. I will say that the money people pay for the game (40 or so dollars when I bought it) and the money for the upgrades (10 bucks) is a joke. Its like throwing quarters into musicians guitar case at the corner of
Bourbon and Canal street. The amount of work that goes into it goes beyond a job, its a passion. But it because of folks like you, expressing your problems, that get things fixed. Its all good. They will look into it I am sure.

My apologies Davinci, you sounded like an old man with a lot of answers ,ready at a moments notice to push aside adolescent requests. my mistake. i just want to make sure you truly understand the question.
And, I feel that I can answer a question without playing on-line , but hey to each its own!
