Does any one use the Linux operating system? I was wondering if you can download your own games on this system? Most specifically the SOW games. It seems to run as well or better than Windows. I haven't figured out how to get the games to run on it though.

I use it to get online most of the time, considering that it is hard to receive a virus through the Linux System.

Now, as for getting this game, or almost any game to run through Linux – I wouldn’t put too much faith into that!

Well it went. I downloaded a program "wine". I then downloaded SOW and played a divisional tutorial. No hiccups while playing, it played very smooth. I was thinking about upgrading from XP to Windows 7. $149.00 is a bit too much for me. Linux is free but new to me and requires some tech figuring out. All in all I think Linux is the way to beat all the big Buck spending on upgrades for your operating systems.

Good. If you happen to play the full game without any problems, please let the good people of Ubuntu/Wine know, and ask them to add this game to their Game Database. This could go well for NSD in advertising the fact that Linux users can now own SOWgb.

There was someone that had some activation issues a while back with Ubuntu but it otherwise ran ok. Of course the game isn't officially supported on Linux, but good to know you got past those issues.

I tried to get past the activation issue but to no avail, Put a message on their forum and will check back when I get results or with further research.
