Reatreating after Falling Back

A suggestion for the next patch. I pretty much only play multi-player, so I'm not sure it works the same in single-player, but I sure would like to see a change in the fallback command.

Currently, if you give a regiment the fallback command, they fire and fallback just fine, but when they get out of range of the enemy, they retreat (no matter what their morale or stamina), and sometimes they retreat back toward the enemy. Once out of range of the enemy, they should either move to the setpoint of the fallback command or just stop. It makes it very difficult and sometimes costly to use the command.

Soldier,

Yes this does happen occasionally in SP also. It is very annoying as your lads go swanning off for no reason.

Who uses Fallback? Getaway is the new Fallback...

In all seriousness, I'll look into this.

I prefer firing while backing away to turning and running, most of the time.

Not, the same problem that is posted on this topic, but related to retreating!

I would like the ability to click on an retreating regiment and somehow direct his movements back towards \ behind my lines.

The other day I had a regiment retreat back-and-forth between the lines for at least five minutes, all the while taking casualties.

I’m not saying that we should be able to stop them from retreating, but helping them find a quicker path towards friendly troops would be nice feature!

KG_Soldier – when I use the fallback option, once the troops are back far enough, I always use the halt button, this seems to stop them from retreating.

Yes, but if you're falling a whole brigade back, it's hard to stop them all in time.

And yes. . . it's very frustrating when retreating regiments decide to run away toward the enemy.

I would agree, the fallback command is far too inefficient with the retreating regiments all the time. In addition, why is there pathing on the fall-back function. Oftentimes, regiment follow the pathing and head back into the fight!
