This website is probably the best view of this great battle. It shows the area where Davout sent up the first regiments in skirmish order which were repulsed by the Austrians. Also the area where the summit of the hill where the main fighting took place as well as the large areas of trees around the battle. If anyone is map making I hope they would use this site to get a real feel for what the battle looked like. It seems to not have change from the 1809 time period and not been destroyed by humans and population growth as many of our civil war battlefields are being made smaller everyday. This just looks like a great place for a map maker to really create a unique battle that was not fought in a large open area but an area with many different features and landmarks.
Hope you all like! Also many other battlefields are on the website.
