ordered to join the div (?) up the road, rebs cut off road before i can get there.courier arrives and tells me to 'hold indicated point'..love to,exept where exactly is the point? i see no floaty things in the air nor a mark on the confusing map.a new chaps question to be sure but short of staying where i am and holding position as im being attacked by a load of rebs im not sure what else to do! cheers

The map will have a green star on it to mark the location you are to occupy. Make sure that you, the brigade commander, and not one of your regiments is selected before looking at the map.

As for the rebs blocking the path, you will need to hustle down the road. This is no day for a stroll. :) Good luck.

If you try to fight it out with that rebel force you will soon find out why many of us feel this game has the best AI of any.

i damn well did! ive started this tutorial 3 times now and the enemy has attacked me in 3 different ways.i cant just charge on up the road and leave them behind me,so it ends up in a fight which is tooth and nail stuff.
i agree, the ai is ferocious! cheers

Perhaps you should deploy your brigade in the Wheatfield, then backpedal into the Rose Woods to bring the charge to a halt. Watch your flanks, and send a messenger to your commander if you want support on your right flank. (Does that support at location command work, team, or is that just for MP)

Watch your regiments and control them. If your are going to get flanked, start falling back to prevent the flank attack. As soon as the troops get under flanking fire, they will not stay long at all.

Good luck!
