I was doing some reading on the Texture packer website, and for those who meet the criteria can get a free license.
Website Link:

I have requested my license for the PRO version. You can choose which type the TXpacker or the other thingy ma bob.
I'll let you know how it goes... I hope I qualify...But I'm sure I won't. No harm in trying though.
Later!

Hey, did you create a
Blog Site , or do you already have one on the server that you use?

I only have my website. I know I don't meet the criteria, but that shouldn't stop me from trying it out anyway...
I would say my chances are about 1 in 1000, maybe even less. I'll find out soon enough.

Thank ya Chris...I'm in full agreement.
To me it costs nothing to ask, but it does cost if you don't.
Cheers.

You will never get an answer if you don't ask.
Cheers...

After reading the first post and looking at the link that you posted, I got the impression that the
free copy was more or less for a
blog with a lot of members.
This way, you could use the software to add to the blog’s website, mention the software in the hopes of steering more people towards buying it!
There are also a lot of
free programs on the
net that appears to convert the
dds files to the
png files. The problem would be trying to find one that is setup like the one that
Norb is now using.
But, I’m sure that if enough time is spent searching the
net someone will come across a free program that works the same as the one mentioned above.

I'll keep looking, poking about, and ask when I can.
The whole point of wanting to do this myself is to avoid having to squander 2 days of downloading these massive files...it's gut wrenching. :pinch:
Thanks for the hints Davinci, and Merry Christmas.
