Recently in MP we have played a few games without ammo wagons and most guys don't like it much. I am going to say that I really like not having ammo wagons on the front lines. In more than one game I have had to conserve my ammmo, now this is great because that reflects actual battlefield situations. Artillery will exhaust its supply (minus canister) in about an hour. In a 1.5 hr game this is major. I think this reflects situations that we have all read about in civil war battles.
The problem more so is with infantry running out of ammo. They could usually scrounge around for some extra cartridges. Usually infantry was pulled out of the line to replenish cartridges and clean their rifles.
I like the option of not having ammo wagons. Maybe we could have ammo wagons that are so slow it would be easier to go to them rather than having them come to us.
