Hmmm, man what a pain it is when you have a very slow connection, using XAMPP, and using the great util called "Game Booster 3".

Okay here it is.

First off I don't like having windows download any updates because I do that myself when I am good, and ready too, and because I have a dial up connection which just kills me while Microsoft, and in the their infinite wisdom has decided tell me that they know better, and I don't.

I always turn off certain things in my Services because I simply don't use them (I don't recommend new users to the Windows OS to go about doing that, but hey it's your computer, and your money).

Now I happen to use a program called XAMPP so I can setup my own personal web sever so I can test out software before I decide on installing them on my real webserver. Now XAMPP cannot be used if a particular service is running which is "WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service" which I personally have turned off because I simply do not need it running.

Every time I use Game Booster 3, and when I exit out of the using that jewel of a util, it enables these services which I have turned off, and starts them back up.

Okay I had to put on my gumby suit, and go on a gumby search, and destroy mission to figure this out, and I found the solution inside Game Booster 3. Make sure that for any services which you have turned off before using Game Booster 3, go into the Game Boosters config, and follow the pictures below..I know pictures included.

That is pretty much it. If you have a service turned off normally, and if you don't unpick it in the config panel for Game Booster 3 or Game Booster will turn them back on.

NOTE: Only do this if you have particular services already turned off.

Personal Disclaimer: I can't be held responsible for any damages that anything I say causes harm to your computer, your home, your cat, your dog, and etc. If you do wish to send me an email I will do my very best to ignore it, or until I have very little going on which as it stands now is not the case. :P

Hehehe okay you got me. :pinch:

I do love it, too much actually. Well if I didn't have this to do I'm pretty sure my wife would want to strangle me, I have to keep the old bean bag happy (not the wife, my brain  ).

Oh well...A rule? Whats a Rule? I've never heard of the Rule before...anyone else hear about the Rule?

Redcoat I do not use 'XAMPP', so GameBooster works fine for me and it is worth it...

Sounds like Michael has a unique setup with his computer, almost everyone has Microsoft 'automatic updates' turned on.

It works fine Redcoat. Like Chamberlain has said I run certain software that is not compatible with some of the services which Windows has automatically running, such as XAMPP, Synchronet (BBS Software), and of course my cursed dial up connection which will haunt me till I look like an old dried up apple doll.

You don't need to worry about anything redcoat, you will be fine.

The software works very well actually no problems on my end with it. :)
