Some 10mm figures

Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.

nice work! Which rules do you use?

I do 6mm myself, here's some pictures from a GB day one I hosted some time ago. We use Fire & fury:http://mazikainen.blogspot.com/2012/01/fire-fury-gettysburg-day-1-in-6mm.html

Hey, thats you, I've read that blog, very cool, I plan on using sevral rules, the baseing is prety generic, but mostly I think about fire and fury brigade rules, and guns at gettysburg for battalion games.

Fire and Fury is excellent fun but many of the "official" scenarios are just huge and need an enormous collection of figures. I have some 80+ stands of infantry pre side and I can barely play the smallest scenarios out there. I think Antietam uses more than 250 stands for union, so I'll stick to SOW for now :)

Well so far I'm looking at shiloh first, so it's about half the size of antietam.

Lets say 100 bases pr. side. thats only 600 figures pr. side for me

The complete OOB for Shiloh with fire and fury accommodates 220 infantry stands for union and 180 for the confererates. On this scale its 200 men per stand, I think. I've been tinkering with the idea of converting the game into 400 scale, effectively halving the amount of stands.

Damn, 400 bases, thats 2400 figues, plus some cav pluss lots of artillery.

No way is my table big enough for that, did the rules specifly how big the table should be to play shiloh?

A mere six feet by eight feet. ;)
There's another problem with the official fire and fury scenarios. The forces are huge and so are the tables. I guess the author has a huge collection himself or a group of friends to pool with. It'll take a long while to do a set like that. It's easier to get some regimental level action going on while painting up your forces.

I started out a bit ambitious but managed to finish the OOB for First Bull Run after a year or so of on/off painting :)

Damn, my table is to shallow, I can get the 8 feet, just by extending my 7 feet table, but it's only 4 feet deep, and I have no room to expand my depth, my table allready takes up half my one room apartment.
