Napoleonic War Mod

Post by william1993 »

I have two questions.

Why does square not stand still. In real life, when infantry formed square, they did not break into line to charge cavalry. But when I form square, as soon as the cavalry get close, the infantry un-form and charge.

Also, when I try to use the Napoleonic fire mod, it crashes the game. Why? Only that and the wagram mod are active.

William,

I have asked the guys to move this post to the "Napoleonic Era" Forum which is a sub Forum of the Modifications Category.

Will,

The Square Charging aspect is a glitch in the game. Since the game is designed for CW combat, there is no provision for squares holding position since, during the CW, there are only 2 recorded instances of units actually forming square. So, no need to have it in the game. It helps a little to TC the units in square since then they will wait until the last minute to charge.

Don't know why the firing mod doesn't work. I have been trying to figure that one out also. I think DaVinci did the original one. He'll figure it out when he has time.

Jack Are you trying to use this mod with the Napoleon Mod - I doubt that it would work considering that the Napoleon Mod will use different names.

Dav,

I am assuming William is speaking of the Nap_Fire_Mod_V1. I thought you did it. Anyway, I think since it was designed before version 1.4, that is why it's not working.

Jack - Negative, I didn't do that one.

Hopefully, gunship can answer this!

DaV,

The only other possibility is MTG.
