When you select the main Gettysburg Scenario's menu you will be given a small introduction from the Confederacy, and the Union point of view (both audio files are from the video intro's of Sid's Gettysburg game).

I will be trying to forage for a decent enough intro for the Cavalry Fields scenario's.

UPDATE: This is the latest fixed version of the mod.

It appears my website was taken out (not by hackers, but by me, and my need to test things out).

The above link no longer works, so give me about 30 minutes to get everything back working as it should.

The website is working but is not where I had it before the crash. If I push myself hard enough I'll have it working in 45 minutes (I have to edit allot of information, and install some new components which I have to upload using my cursed dialup connection.

Sorry guys but shite happens.

I apologize for the inconvenience I caused by messing around with things I have no business messing around with.

Quickfix: I screwed up, here is a quick fix.

Just copy, and overwrite the mscreens.csv with this one until I can get the fix version uploaded.

The download in the first post is now the UPDATED version with the fix installed.

If you downloaded the version I uploaded earlier today, then either re-download the latest version (2.0), or download this fix.

The problem is that I forgot to take out something in the .csv file that interrupted playing the intro (I know better, but hey I'm just learning here). So if the intro is not playing when visiting the Gettysburg Main Scenarios screen, then replace the mscreens.csv with the one here or download the mod found in the first post.

Sorry for the problems guys, it's been a hard day.

Thanks for this nice little mod Michael it works great, it brought back fond memories of Sid Meier's Gettysburg and the many hours fun I had with that great old game.

Thanks guys! I love the old Gettysburg, it does bring back allot of fine memories.

I'm trying to figure out if I can call out side programs to play video.

Like something along the lines of $playvid:intro.avi but so far can't get anything to work.

I'm almost sure that it has to be hard coded, but who knows maybe I can stumble on a command within the game that is used for debugging purposes only which Norb knows about, and won't post. :ohmy:

I was hunting all day, looking through patches of dead grass, pushing my nose through mounds of I don't know what to find something that would work in the Cavalry Scenario's...as I continued on bumping my nose against twigs, and bramble I cocked my limp right ear, and I began to hear a beautiful sorrowful melody drifting in on a gentle cool North East breeze which made me change my mind, and replace the Main Intro Music instead (blah)!

Okay so what has changed in this new edition? The only thing which was added is the music which replaces SOWgb intro (when you start the game).

I decided to not add any intro to the Cavalry Field scenarios menu since it seems right listening to Sid's Gettysburg Intro while you are poking about trying to decide which scenario to play.
