Autocharge

Can someone from the devs team tell me please....?

1) At what range does this kick in?
2) Does the type of terrain the units are in affect the distance - for example does autocharge kick in at a greater distance in the open versus in woods?
3) Does the quality of the unit affect the distance at which it autocharges? Example - will green troops get 'over-excited' and autocharge at longer ranges?

Thanks

We had an instance yesterday of a unit manouvered carefully around by an owning player onto an enemy flank in woods to about 80 or 90yds range and instead of standing and blasting the flank, they autocharged, much to the owning players annoyance. The distance seemed a bit excessive to me. They were grade 2 irregulars and as I say, it occurred in woods.

For infantry we got that number as low as possible to avoid your issue, I think we compromised at 35 yards. Definitely not 80 as you report. Now, if they bump wheeling, with the flags at 80, auto charge will initiate.

Keep us informed, and we'll check it out in team testing. Maybe it got affected after these recent patches. Thanks...

Ouch. This incident sure looked a lot more than 35 yards to me and the flags were a long way apart. We'll keep you posted.

We tested autocharge last night thoroughly and it is working properly. Perhaps it was just a random rare occurrence, or the player accidentally hit the charge button. :)

What about retreating units going back into melee?

We can't ever reproduce that, even though I have seen it happen on a rare occasion. It's in the system though, and will get looked at.
