Battles at night

Hello,

Recently I purchased Antietam and found that the beginning of the battle starts when it is still dark outside. I think it would be really neat if someone were to make a mod that you could actually have a battle in the dark for sandbox games. I don't know anything about programming or modding. Would someone out there be willing to try that? I realize that, historically, night battles during the period were rare, but I think it would still be a neat way to mix up the game a bit for SP sandbox games. Thanks for reading! I understand if it's not possible or nobody wants to make it.

This is something that is not moddable. The sunrise/sunset is triggered by a command in the scenario script, therefore it can't be triggered in sandbox.

Either way, I there is a request in our system for a future release to have the sunrise/sunsett be reflected by the time you set in the sandbox options.

I'm still under the impression that the clock is still broken in game.

As far as I remember it still goes to the 25th hour, this would have to be addressed to have real-time day and night cycles.

Not able to be triggered eh? There is undoubtedly a way! :evil:

Do I need to post some screenies? Sandbox at night, easiest thing to do...

Well alright smarty pants, post your screen shots. :P

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a way.. Sandbox modding isn't something I have experimented with much, but even if it can be triggered, you also need to be able to change the visibility range (weather settings) for it to be truly accurate, which is done in the scenario battlescript.

Any of the mod team can add new skies to their maps. I have a night sky, among others, that I made somewhere in my files. It has the moon and stars. If any of those guys want it I can upload it to them.
