Will somebody help a noobie out? I cannot get my troops at any unit size to respond to my couriers.

Hi Wetworth

Are you using any mods? Are you using the courier menu, or point and click with the toolbar.

If youre using the courier menu, most likely you arent specifying a formation- so try this.

General A, move to xx farm, form your brigade into a line.

No mods running, but also no formations. I was trying simple commands like move 300 yards forward. I'll try giving them more directions with my messages.

Make sure you say 'move your unit forward' rather than 'move forward', which will only move the general.

I'm still not getting any response. Maybe it's the settings i'm using? I can move my brigades myself.

Dont worry, theres a few things we can try before your courtmartialed :)

- What difficulty level are you playing at?

- Are the couriers going out to the general?

- Give me an example of a move order you have tried, word for word please so i can make sure your doing it right.

Alternatively

It could be another issue, theres a small glitch that affects certain systems - it seems to be linked to a windows/registry update, sounds like you might be experiencing it.

Theres a simple fix - go into the time section of the courier orders and select a different time, then reselect the current time. That should do it.

I had that exact problem....only way to fix it is to de-activate, uninstall, re-install and reactivate. Good as new. Mine started when I did a system restore. God knows. Anyway, works fine now.
