Need a little help here.

Tried to play a multiplayer with a friend this evening after helping her download the game.

We are both on version 1.4

we both have the bonus scenarios pack installed

we are both activated

we both can start rooms with no problem and (by ourselves) enter the staging room, setup a game and actually get into the game.

However, when we are in the same room and the room creator hits the enter staging room button, the creator can get into the staging room but the guest cannot.

one last point

She is on windows 7 (64 bit)
I am on windows XP (32 bit)

Any ideas or suggestions?

A thought: Is the guest hitting the 'Enter Staging Room' button too? S/he shouldn't be. S/he should wait and the 'Multiplayer Select' screen should appear. If you knew this already, apologies

I hope someone who knows much more will be along to help soon.

PS Once she's up and running, could you ask your friend to 'vote' in this poll:

She could then be 25% of our female forum membership!

Figured it out guys, seems that the router firewall is the problem. I cannot figure out how to create a pass-through for the game, so what I did was disabled the firewall for my particular computer and allowed my static IP to go directly to my computer. That solved the problem. If I can figure out how to create a pass-through for it I'd rather do that, because 1. It's a pain having to enable and disable the firewall, every time I want to play this game in multiplayer mode.

If anyone has any suggestions, the modem is a 2wire757 from AT&T.

Cheers.

Have you tried the portforwarding website recommended in the SoWG manual?
