Fog in scenarios

It appears to be something about FogEnable=1 FogNear and FogFar.
Where in the ini must that lines be added exactly?
Can the ini file be used as a mod?
Must I uncheck read only?
Any serious performance hit?
Greetings

OK, I think that this topic was approximately one year ago, so I’m only going by memory , here!
I located this file from my old files; I think that it is the copy of the mod from back then.
Example : This is in the file below:
[About]
MapName=Kansas
MapDesc=The Mac Map
[Files]
LSLFile=KS.lsl
CSVFile=KS.csv
Grayscale=KS.bmp
Minimap=KS_MM.dds
……………………………………………………………….
Now – I’m going to change it to represent the ELPine_1 map.
So, open the file below and look for the lines above, and then edit them to something similar to the lines below.
[About]
MapName=ELPine_1
MapDesc=Five Mile Map
[Files]
LSLFile=ELPine_1.lsl
CSVFile=ELPine_1.csv
Grayscale=ELPine_1.bmp
Minimap=ELPine_1_MM.dds
Basically – you must tell the game which map to apply the fog effects into, which are the four lines under the [Files] heading.
Then, just change the name of the Mod Folder , so instead of the current KS_Fog_Mod , you would name it ELPine_Fog_Mod , or something similar.
This will help to quickly identify the Mod when activating, or disabling.

DaV,
The actual Mod we did is posted somewhere in the Mods List that Mike Slaunwhite has or is keeping. 'Course, I should probably update it with all the new maps. (Yes, if I had a life.)

And you have time to feature in the advertising campaign promoting California. Very impressive!

Indeed, you have caught me there, :laugh:, and I will try, soon, to update the Fog Mod to include the new maps.

I´ve played around with it, tweaked and changed some things but the effect horizon is not too transparent.
Not sure but It can be an issue with ATI cards. I have never got luck running as intended, in any computer with ATI, some kind of fog effects. ATI drivers and so...

Guda,
Yes, it took DaV and me awhile to get it right, too.

Hey, I also have an ATI Card - and also had an ATI Card at the time that me and Jack were messing around with those Fog Values.
Since, you have already located the old post, go back and read it again, I think that I explained which values did what, and how you would\could have a lighter fog.
Today, I have absolutely no memory of what we were changing!
This is basically how all of the Modders started, by changing small things, one step at a time.
