I hand painted over 1,000 1/72nd scale ACW miniatures. I used to game with them regularly in the 90's. Now I cant' find a soul in Houston, Texas to game with. Its a lost art for ACW warafare and 1/72nd scale(22mm-24mm) is slightly less than 25mm the more popular scale. It would take me 8 hours to paint 15 miniatures, but man was it fun to get them on a good table for battle. If my house caught on fire, I would try and save those over my guns and guitars just because of the thousands of hours I put into painting and placing those mini's.

Tex,
I remember that too. Had all my figure cases on shelves at the front of the garage so I could grab them in case something really went wrong. Yes, the time put in made them really special.

Probably should get moved to the off-topic/other games thread.
That's where I assumed we'd discuss it, since its not relevant to SoW.

It's laughable to list my miniatures compared to you guys. I have 50 Reb Infantry and 50 US. I have setup a little battle scene on a shelf, complete with grass, trees, worm fence, etc.
I'm pretty proud of the paint job for my first try, if I don't say so myself... I'll see if I can post pics sometime. Every time I have tried to grab shots before, they come out too blurry.
I also have dozens of Reb and US artillery guns and crews, and some cavalry that I still need to paint one of these days.
Edit: Oh yeah, all 15mm.

Tim also painted 160,000 or so figures for a wargame called Scourge of War which some of you may have played.
