I'd like to read more about this war. Can anyone share some book recommendations? Historical or historical fiction.
How's this one, Conor?
TIA,
Jeff

Fiction
Sharpe series by Bernard Cornwell (start with Sharpe's Eagle as his later books tended to shoe-horn his character into every major event between 1798 and 1816, incl Trafalgar!!!!!!!).
R.F Deilderfield's Too few for Drums & Seven Men of Gascony are good.
C.S Forrester's Death to the French & The Gun.
Factual
The Johnny Kincaid and Rifleman Harris memoirs are a terrific read.

Sorry, only saw this one now. Not sure you meant to post it here? I'm going to move it from the iPhone section to 'Wars of Napoleon'.
That book is very enjoyable - the letters written by John Aitchinson are interspersed with some good detail on the battles and maps etc. It's very interesting to get a human perspective on all this - even though he was a Guards officer and had it far easier than the troops. The wheeling and dealing selling promotions is unbelievable.
I'd second Crikey's recommendation of 'The Gun' by CS Forrester, in fact any of his books are fantastic, particularly the Hornblower series (naval war).
I used to LOVE Sharpe. I can't stand it anymore.

David Gates' "The Spanish Ulcer" is all you need, after that some specific battle histories would also be helpful.
