Adding New Fonts to SOW

Post by Hancock the Superb »

I see all the in-game fonts in the SDK are in a .pft format. Could I use a .ttf file as well, or will I need to find a .pft of my chosen font?

Thanks.

Since I just tried it and it does not work, is there a way I can convert a ttf format to a pft format?

Hancock - I added a lot of Fonts with the 10MileMap\Graphics\Fonts.

I played around with them a long time ago, don't really remember too much as of now!

The game engine is limited in its font handling ability. It will only use *.pft font file format. Even there not all font files will look good in game. The font files go into /graphics/fonts and the file /logistics/gamefonts.csv must be edited to allow the game to recognize any added fonts. An easy way to test new fonts is to put them into courier messages.

Upgrading the game engine to use less obscure font file types is on the list of things to do.
