Fighting on Garniers Random Maps

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Fighting on Garniers Random Maps

All,

Having now played many games on G's fine maps, I've come across something interesting. Since the road system allows for a ton of flanking manuvers by both sides, I've done a slightly custom OOB for the Yankees. I tend to play at Division Command level. I have found the 3rd. Corps, Sickles not withstanding, to be excellent troops. I'll use either Division. I also have become a huge fan of the "detaching half the Brigade" orders. I also tend to go swanning off a bit, working the flanks, rather than following the most direct route. Definitely get into a bit of trouble that way. To that end, I have wanted to detach the USSS boys from their parent brigade, (Wards), and make them a seperate unit, ala the detaching orders icon. However, it won't work for just them. Therefore I present to you this modded OOB from the 2nd. Day's action. The USSS boys are under a seperate command, (a Fourth Brigade), for Birney. They have proven to be excellent Flankers. Since one or both of my flanks tend to be in the air, regularly, I can use them to hold up anyone coming round one of them until I can react to it. Anyway, here you go.
